  2. --LOCAL OPERATION--------------------------------------------------------

  4. A feature included in all UltraSoft Action Doors is the /L (local) mode
  5. of operation. We have found all too many Doors on the market must be 
  6. installed on a BBS System, before even realizing what they consist of.
  7.  
  8. We hope to influence other Door authors to do similar things to make
  9. life easier for the (often overworked and usually underpaid) BBS Sysop.
  10.  
  11. As such, this program may easily be run locally, (completely independent
  12. of a BBS System), by simply going into the directory where it is located 
  13. and typing the name of the Door followed by a space and the "/L" parameter.
  14.  
  15. -- INSTALLATION -----------------------------------------------------------
  16.  
  17. In this version of your UltraSoft Program, there is an INSTALL Utility
  18. included, that will make the installation and configuration of this
  19. program simpler that doing it manually. Some revision of Files may be
  20. necessary after the install, depending on your set-up, but it will be
  21. an excellent place to start. We recommend using INSTALL.EXE first, and 
  22. if there are any modifications necessary, perform them afterward. INSTALL
  23. is included in this package. If for any reason INSTALL does not work well
  24. on your system, then simply move the files to the assigned directory as 
  25. before, and follow by setting up the .CFG and .BAT files manually.

  27. To run INSTALL, simply have your files on either a floppy disk or in a
  28. work directory on your harddisk. IMPORTANT! They must be unarchived prior
  29. to running INSTALL. So if your UltraSoft package is in .ZIP format, or 
  30. some other form of archive, decompress it first.

  32. Move to where the files are: [CD \work1] or [A:] (for example) and type 
  33. INSTALL. Knowing in advance what your Directory Structure is going to be, 
  34. follow the instructions of the INSTALL program for a trouble-free install.

  36. -- COMMENTS ----------------------------------------------------------------

  38. If extra archives are contained herein, such as ARTWORK.ZIP, (a BBS Screen
  39. Set Manager of large BBS screen Libraries), they are not necessary to setup 
  40. or run your UltraSoft Door. They are supplemental materials, each with 
  41. internal documentation of it's own. We suggest removing these to another 
  42. directory or floppy disk, de-archiving them and examining the contents there.

  44. Hopefully you will find these additional materials and utilities very useful 
  45. for your BBS. Others are often available at the UltraSoft Support BBS..

  47. -- EXTRA EXTRA! ------------------------------------------------------------

  49. Additional supplemental files and utilities are included with the Registered 
  50. version of this Software. For one, DOORGRAF.ZIP is included in the Registered
  51. package. This file is also not required to run the DOOR, but it is a very
  52. popular, useful and graphically appealing Bulletin and NewsFile generator to
  53. rate the various Doors on your system for activity. We trust your UltraSoft
  54. game(s) will be among the top runners, as they are on many other BBS Systems.

  56. Also included in the Registered package is a utility called WATCHER, which
  57. keeps a running log of each caller who enters any DOOR by date and time, and
  58. is also used by the DOORGRAF graph generator System..

  60. Your DOORGRAF and WATCHER Documentation is included inside the archive.
